Photography with a mission: let's start with no food waste!

This year has flown and it's been super busy! It's almost the end of it and today I was reflecting on what I have managed to do so far with my photography activities, despite my busy full time job..

1) I have launched my website adding to its original idea a whole blogging section which will give it a good twist in terms of content and opportunities.

2) I have decided the structure of my photography gallery, which will change only every 6 months and will present each time 3 new collections (so yes, you guessed right, by now I am selecting the pictures for my H1 2020's gallery!).

3) I have set up my sales pages, collaborating with third parties for the production and shipping sides of my photography products.

4) I have gathered a small mailing list and set up some Social Media, so you can find me as well now on Facebook and Instagram .

5) I have started some projects which will materialize in 2020 but, and here we are!, before the year ends, I have managed to kick off an awesome collaboration completely in line with my mission as a photographer, which is to support with my work the environment and people's wellness.

So I am so excited to let you guys know that since a couple of months I am collaborating with a great organization who fights against food waste: Instock.

Do you know about Instock? I didn't until the day I was surfing the internet and I came across their website and learnt about their attention to zero food waste and their mission to rescue food (you can read everything about Instock here!). Instock cares about food waste and they do a lot to bring awareness: awareness about how much water is used to produce food which is at the end not used, awareness about how much food is literally thrown away just because the size, appearance or production levels are not in line with market standards or expectations (manufacturers throw away around 39% of their products just because of this!). Instock turns food surplus into tasty meals. From imperfectly produced tiny tomatoes or crooked carrots to overproduced bread and potatoes, Instock re-uses food which is normally not selected by the industry, and they transform it thanks to their experienced and creative chefs.

So when I read about this concept I was really happy there is people taking care of this useless waste and decided to join the mission and support their movement, helping them to further spread awareness around what they do, as well as hopefully help their concept to get further attention via a mindful and targeted photography. So I decided to approach Instock The Hague and when I explained Sales & Event Manager Nina the idea behind my photography mission, she was positively impressed. I stressed to Nina the fact that I thought there was not enough food photography in their premises so to create a stronger link between their business and their mission. Nina thought our ideas and concepts were meeting and working together would have meant supporting each other, so she was happy about the beginning of such a positive collaboration.

Nina was looking for fresh and joyful photography - linked to food of course! - for the 2 big lunch rooms at the The Hague location of Instock and among 4 different series, she selected the colorful COLOR CONTRAST on display right now here at Pink Camera by PhotoGEN3 and.. one of my new 2020 series FRUIT SPLASH, to be seen on this website as of Jan 2020 (stay tuned!).

So if you are in The Hague and have a bit of time, want a good fresh "meal with a mission" and want to enjoy a small photography exhibition, head to INSTOCK The Hague https://www.instock.nl/restaurant/den-haag/ and let me know what you think about the food and the 2 series which are coloring up the walls of the beautiful 2 floors location!

More to come in 2020 with another big project to support the environment I am currently busy with and still "work in progress"!
